Middle Essex Summer Softball

Registration for PYS 2024 Summer Season is now open! Click here to register.

Summer travel softball is more competitive relative to the spring season. PYS will do our best to enter teams 10U, 12U, and 14U divisions into the Middle Essex Summer League run by USA Softball of Massachusetts. Depending on interest, multiple teams may be formed at each age group. If PYS is able to place two teams in any division in any age group, we will host tryouts for placement onto those teams. While every attempt will be made to roster girls onto a team, spots are not guaranteed and full refunds will be provided for any players not rostered.

* 10's and 14's will play on Monday/Wednesday

12's and 18's will play on Tuesday/Thursday

Season starts on Monday, June 24th.

Season ends on Thursday, August 1st.

The week of August 5th can be used as weather related reschedules.

 All Star Game - tentative date 7/20/24

 There are two games a week and additional practices. All scheduled games are played on weeknights.  Some make-up games due to weather-related cancellations could be made up on a weekend. Practice nights vary by coach and could include a Sunday evening.

Home games are played in The Pines in Groveland, and road games are played in towns in and around Essex County and also parts of Middlesex County.

ASA Age Classifications for Summer 2024

ASA/USA rules determine a player’s eligibility with a September 1st cutoff for the current season. Here are the age classifications for 2024:

10U: Born 9/1/2012 – 8/31/2015

12U: Born 9/1/2010 – 8/31/2012

14U: Born 9/1/2008 – 8/31/2010

18U: Born 9/1/2004 – 8/31/2008

Games:  Double headers on Saturdays beginning 9/7/2024

Here are the age classifications for Fall of 2024:

12U: Born 9/1/2011 – 8/31/2013 

14U: Born 9/1/2009 – 8/31/2011

PYS is hoping to field teams in the 12U, and 14U divisions for the fall of 2024 if we can get a sufficient number of coaches and players for each division.  If we can not roster a team at a particular age group refunds will be provided.
